Who Is Pat Flynn?

My philosophical education began with the atheistic existentialists. Eventually, however, my materialist worldview collapsed, I reconsidered options, and became a philosophical theist – ultimately, a Catholic.

People have found my account interesting and wondered what could have brought a thoroughly secular, and allegedly critical, thinker, to a position of religious faith. This blog explores some of those issues, most of them philosophical. That is, questions concerning the existence of God, the constitution of the human person, and dimensions of morality.

I have five published books, including The Best Argument for God and How to Be Better at (Almost) Everything.

I write for various Catholic websites as well, including Catholic Answers and Word on Fire. Throughout the week, I host the Philosophy for the People podcast with Dr. James Madden.

Academically (for those who care), I have a master’s in philosophy and a bachelor’s in economics and finance. I am published in the areas of metaphysics and philosophy of religion. I have five children, the world’s most amazing wife, and enjoy working out, video games, and guitar.
